Southeastern Ontario Towns That We Love

So you are thinking of moving East, but not sure where to be looking? We hear this comment a lot, and luckily for you we have the inside scoop.

When most people set out in search of their new home it can be overwhelming with the amount of pockets and sweet towns that stretch across South Western Ontario. From Belleville to Prince Edward County, Brighton to Tweed, there are so many lovely locations in between for you live. It helps to narrow down your options, and know what you are looking for.

SouthWestern Ontario offers not only breathtaking views, and affordable properties, but exciting new adventures and vibrant communities ready for new members. From young professionals, downsizers to retirees, there is something for everyone. Here are a few of our personal favourites, and we will tell you why.

Stirling Ontario- Just 30 minutes northwest of Belleville and 161 years young, this charming village is an excellent opportunity for many people. With a vibrant theatre and plenty of recreational activities to do inside and out, it’s a village for people who want to be involved and keep busy. Home prices remain affordable, and accessible. We especially like the Central Hastings Heritage Loop experience that connect Southwestern Ontario together that run through Stirling, so if you are in the area, you might want to check this out.

Tweed Ontario- Welcome to Tweed, where the official hashtag is #backtonature. We think that says it all. Nestled along the Moira river, and Stoco lake, Tweed is an outdoor lovers paradise. Agricultural fairs, fishing, summer recreation and sports, music, and a deeply rooted and busy arts council. If any of this sounds like what you are looking for, then you might want to check out Tweed.

Prince Edward County- What can we say about the darling of the area that hasn’t been said already. Prince Edward County sits just south of Belleville, and is a tourist delight. From Sandbanks Provincial Park on the west to Waupoos to the east, you are sure to find something for everyone. Long settled by indigenous people, this area has offered a bounty to people for a millennia. Surrounded by water, and lush thick forests, PEC has been a popular summer spot, and recently has found a new renaissance with wineries and entrepreneurs.

Brighton Ontario - Just along the 401, before you reach Belleville, you will pass the charming and growing town of Brighton. Brighton is a community of dedicated volunteers with a vibrant arts and culture presence, active youth and a quality lifestyle for retirement. Property in the area is affordable to many, and offers many types of living lifestyles. Lastly, for all the bird lovers out there, just south of the main town Presqu’ile Provincial Park sits on the north shore of Lake Ontario, that offers camping, biking, and recreational areas for the public to enjoy.
